Cozy Nerd Camp: August 21-30, 2026

What to Expect

Cozy nerd camp is ten nights of queer, casual, light hearted summer camp.

The campsite consists of several acres of forest-ringed beachfront space with tons of grassy areas to set up tents or campers. There are two outhouses and a handwashing station, with showers available a short drive away. There is no electricity or any hookups of any kind.

Camp days tend to be very relaxed, with lots of naps and food, interspersed with beach time, games, crafts, archery, reading, axe throwing, and fire!

People under 18 are welcome with their grownups, and there will be children for at least part of the time, but there are currently no organized activities especially for them.

We are queer, trans, and neurodivergent. We appreciate when people are direct about their needs, expectations, and hopes. Here are some of ours:

❋Treat Each Other Excellently

We’re all here trying to have a relaxing time. Be considerate of fellow campers, clean up after yourself, and be chill. Excessive noise is discouraged at all times, and we tend to be in bed by midnight unless the aurora are out.

❋ No Tolerance for Bigotry

Homophobia, racism, sizism, transphobia, fascism, you know the ones. Speak up if you hear it, and if someone tells you something you said was harmful or hurtful, try to learn from it rather than getting defensive.

❋ Pitch in as you are able

This can look like helping to leave the campsite cleaner than we found it, doing dishes after communal meals, taking trash to the receptacles, etc. It can also look like planning an activity, making a group snack, running a game, or setting up and taking down equipment as needed.

❋ Don’t get us kicked out of the campground

Alcohol and cannabis are officially not permitted at this particular group use site. There are occasional checks by park staff, please keep any personal use discreet and respectful of others.

If you or someone in your party is unable to follow these guidelines, your group will be asked to pack up and leave. The person whose name is on the camping permit is the ultimate arbiter of who may stay on the site.

What’s Available

Camp and Organizers provide:

Screened tents for common hangout space

Kitchen tent for storage of food and coolers

Propane barbecue and pizza oven

Equipment for fire cookery

Archery and thrown weapons range

Two Outhouses

Non-Potable Water Pump

Hand and dish washing space

Garbage and Recycling bins

Rides to the shower

What To Bring

Campers must bring their own:

Tent and Bedding

Food, Snacks and Beverages

Cooler, Ice, and Water

Dishes, Utensils, Cups, and Mugs

We also strongly recommend:

Camp Chair or Blanket

Sunscreen and Bug Spray

Bathing Suit and Water Shoes (very rocky beach)

Towel

Powerbank for your phone

Firewood

What does it cost?

If possible, we appreciate groups paying $10 a night per tent to help defray site and organizing costs.

If you can bring extra ice and firewood, that also really helps out!

Can I eat with you?

Ashlyn will include you in the Asthaven meal plan for a share of costs and labour. Let us know at least a week ahead of time if you want to take part.

2026 Deadline: August 14

Breakfast: $10/day

Dinner: $20/day
