What is Noble & Whimsical?
Noble & Whimsical is what happens when you support an artisan, chef, organizer and social justice nerd to live their best ADHD life. Ashlyn Noble founded Noble & Whimsical as an art business, selling glass beads and sculpture. Gradually, other ventures crept in, and now it is a brand that brings together multiple community building projects under an umbrella of shared belief in mutual aid and respect for people’s identities. Noble & Whimsical is a community made up of people that value the idea that everyone wins when we all share when we’re able to.
About Ashlyn
Ashlyn Noble (she/they) has been creating beads and small glass creations since 2014 from her home studio in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. They have designed custom pieces and historical replicas for clients around the world.
She started What’s For Dinner in 2023 to make really good, home cooked food for people in her life who didn’t have the energy to cook, or couldn’t afford nice ingredients. They now regularly make 50+ meals at a time, all provided on a pay what you can basis.
She is multicraftorial - when not cooking or making beads, Ashlyn is often quilting, sewing comfy clothing, painting, and gardening (which is totally a craft). She loves hiking in the forest, playing games, and taking hundreds of pictures of the family cats. She has always loved feeding people, especially the thrill of large events or themed party menus.
She is currently searching for a new space to operate from so she can feed even more people- please reach out if you have access to a commercial kitchen you could occasionally lend!
The Team
Behind the scenes, volunteers make Noble & Whimsical work.
Lauren, dedicated sous chef, gardener, dishwasher, and spouse is there every cook, making everything possible.
David and his muscles, truck, and problem solving skills make the big ideas happen.
Chantal delivers meals all across the city every week, putting in so much mileage and time to ensure everyone who orders can get a meal.
Athena and Wes, frequent kitchen helpers, chop and mix and package up food as well as baking bread and portioning cookies. Athena can be found in the summer keeping the WFD garden plots alive and thriving.
Everyone who volunteers to sort clothing, set up tents, fix spreadsheets, and clean up after events is precious to me and deserves a mention as part of the team. We love you!
